    Overview

The grant program aims to support institutional research training programs focusing on Alzheimer's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD). It seeks to prepare neuroscientists with the necessary research skills and knowledge to significantly contribute to AD/ADRD research, covering a range of areas such as Vascular Contributions to Cognitive Impairment and Dementia (VCID), Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), Fronto-temporal Dementia (FTD), and mixed dementias. The programs are encouraged to offer comprehensive training that includes didactic, research, and career development components, fostering exceptional research skills and knowledge. Specifically, the grant supports programs that ensure trainees have a solid understanding of experimental design, statistical principles, methodological approaches, analytical skills, and communication skills. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of quantitative literacy and approaches in trainees' research. The training programs are intended to be 2 years in duration, focusing on dissertation stage predoctoral students in their 3rd and/or 4th year, postdoctoral fellows, and fellowship-stage clinicians, excluding first or second year graduate students.
