The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The REACH Virtual Resource Centers grant program is designed to enhance institutional partnerships and provide extensive support for research activities and training for faculty at U.S. domestic complementary and integrative health clinical institutions. These institutions include schools of acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy, naturopathy, physical therapy, and music and art therapy. Key focus areas for the REACH centers include offering Administrative Support, Research Support, Grantsmanship, Mentoring and Training, and Team Building. The goal is to assist clinician scientists in forming interdisciplinary research teams to conduct externally funded research that aligns with NCCIH Strategic Priorities. These priorities encompass health promotion and restoration, resilience, disease prevention, symptom management (including pain management), and whole person health. The grant specifically supports investigators focused on clinical research, including observational and epidemiological studies, mechanistic clinical research, mixed methods, feasibility studies, and more.
