This grant program aims to explore the roles and intersections of sex and gender in health and disease. It seeks research applications focused on understanding how sex and gender factors intersect in the context of health and disease, and also encourages research aligning with one of the five objectives from the Strategic Goal 1 of the 2019-2023 Trans-NIH Strategic Plan for Women's Health Research "Advancing Science for the Health of Women." This initiative is supported by funds from the Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH) and various partnering Institutes and Centers across the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
