    Overview

The Family Self-Sufficiency Demonstration Development (FSSDD) Continuation Awards are designed for recipients of the initial FSSDD grants to further develop, implement, and test interventions aimed at improving family self-sufficiency. The grants support efforts to:

    1. Generate evidence on interventions targeting low-income families with children who are current or potential beneficiaries of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
    2. Enhance recipients' internal research and evaluation capacity to foster and execute evidence-informed programming aimed at boosting participant outcomes.

This grant encourages a move from foundational evaluation and capacity-building activities toward the formal execution and rigorous testing of interventions devised in the initial award phase, focusing on the integrity of implementation and promising participant outcomes. Recipients are also expected to collaborate with federally funded, third-party technical assistance providers.
