    Overview

The General Departmental Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (GDSRAE) Program aims to support projects that offer sexual risk avoidance education, guiding participants to abstain from non-marital sexual activity. Specifically targeting areas with high teen birth rates or increased likelihood of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the program focuses on empowering young people to make informed, healthy decisions to avoid pregnancy, STIs, and engagement in risky behaviors. Grant recipients are expected to employ medically accurate information, use evidence-based curricula or strategies, and teach about the importance of self-regulation, successful life planning, healthy relationships, goal setting, and resisting sexual coercion, dating violence, underage drinking, and illicit drug use.
