    Type of Support

    Overview

The grant aims to support secure residential care providers for unaccompanied children (UC) who require a heightened level of care due to being a danger to themselves or others or having criminal charges. These providers must operate licensed juvenile detention centers, ensuring care in the least restrictive setting suitable for the UC’s age and special needs. Funded entities must comply with the Flores Settlement Agreement and other federal laws, regulations, and ORR policies and procedures. The goal is to ensure safety, proper care, and adherence to legal standards for UC in highly restrictive settings, promoting their well-being during ORR custody.
