The grant program aims to enhance cybersecurity capabilities, awareness, and education in Central Japan and Kyushu. It specifically targets improving the economic security of these regions by focusing on sectors that are essential to global supply chains, such as aerospace, automobile manufacturing, and semiconductor design and production. The project seeks to share information security best practices and bolster cyber defenses across critical infrastructure, industry, and academia. Activities include hosting cybersecurity-focused events like panel discussions, conferences, and workshops, with participation from leaders in government, academia, the private sector, and civil society from both Japan and the U.S. These events will cover key themes such as public-private cooperation in cybersecurity, protecting critical infrastructure, and cybersecurity education, with an emphasis on the role of cybersecurity in economic security and digital innovation.
