The Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs leads Department efforts to expand and strengthen the relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other countries.
The PD La Paz Small Grants Program aims to fortify people-to-people ties between the United States and Bolivia through a diverse range of programs. These include cultural, educational, professional, and scientific exchanges that underscore shared values and promote bilateral cooperation. A key feature of all proposed programs is the inclusion of a U.S. cultural element or the engagement with U.S. experts, organizations, or institutions in relevant fields, striving to deepen understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives among Bolivian audiences. The grant encourages activities such as lectures, seminars, speaker programs, artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances, exhibitions, cultural heritage conservation projects, professional or academic exchanges (including virtual connections with U.S. entities), and professional development opportunities.
