The Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs leads Department efforts to expand and strengthen the relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other countries.
The Small Grants Program seeks to fund projects and programs that include an American cultural element or connection and promote understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives among Norwegians. The grants support wide-ranging topics, including global security challenges, Arctic issues with a focus on youth and technology, climate change initiatives, countering media malign influences, promoting diversity and inclusion, cultural heritage preservation, and U.S. higher education promotion. Projects should contain a public outreach component and demonstrate how they will engage with American experts, organizations, or institutions in their field.
