    The Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs leads Department efforts to expand and strengthen the relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other countries.

    Overview

    The Mission China Public Diplomacy Grants Program invites proposals for projects that aim to bolster U.S.-China people-to-people relationships and increase Chinese understanding of U.S. foreign policy, values, and culture through direct or virtual interactions. The program supports small grants with total funding of up to $30,000 and large grants ranging from $50,000 to $150,000. Competitive proposals will align with priority program areas and must feature American expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s) in a manner that fosters increased cooperation between U.S. and Chinese citizens as well as between the U.S. Mission in China and the Chinese populace.
