The Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs leads Department efforts to expand and strengthen the relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other countries.
The grant aims to fund the Youth Ambassadors for Community Service program, intending to bring up to 30 French high school students aged 15 to 17 to the United States for a fifteen-day exchange in October and/or November 2025. This program's core objectives are to nurture leadership skills, promote civic engagement and volunteerism, and foster intercultural dialogue and understanding between French and American youths. The initiative seeks to provide opportunities for all participants, encouraging them to become active, community-oriented leaders who represent and enact positive change within their communities, promoting tolerance, and achievement. Through this program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. education system and American society while building alliances with their American peers to support underserved communities.
