The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is a component of the U.S. Department of Justice. OVW implements the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and provides national leadership on the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.
The Grants to Improve the Criminal Justice Response Program (ICJR Program) aims to assist state, local, and tribal governments, and courts in enhancing their response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking as serious criminal offenses. The program supports efforts to improve the criminal justice system's approach to these crimes and strives to ensure safety and autonomy for victims.
