The mission of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) focuses on preventing juvenile delinquency and improving the juvenile justice system. OJJDP accomplishes this by supporting states, local communities, and tribal jurisdictions in their efforts to develop and implement effective programs for juveniles. The agency emphasizes the importance of community-based programs and initiatives that aim to prevent delinquency, reduce the involvement of youth in the juvenile justice system, and enhance the well-being of children and families.
This grant aims to support communities in their efforts to assist girls age 17 and younger who are at risk of involvement and/or involved in the juvenile justice system. The goal is to fund programs that develop, enhance, or expand early intervention programs and/or treatment services specifically for girls involved in the juvenile justice system.
