The Administration for Community Living (ACL) supports the needs of the aging and disability populations, and improves access health care and long-term services.
The grant aims to fund the establishment of one center for independent living in Guam, enhancing and broadening the delivery of independent living services while supporting the network of centers for independent living. Core services required by the program include information and referral, independent living skills training, peer counseling, individual and systems advocacy, and services promoting transitions from nursing homes or other institutions to community living. This includes aiding individuals at risk of institutionalization and supporting the transition of youth to post-secondary life. The estimated total fund available for this purpose is $110,326.
