The Administration for Community Living (ACL) supports the needs of the aging and disability populations, and improves access health care and long-term services.
The grant program aims to support research and development projects that improve the inclusion and integration of individuals with disabilities into society. It focuses on maximizing employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities, particularly those with significant support needs. The program seeks to enhance the effectiveness of services as outlined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. A specific priority for this grant is researching maternal health services or interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes among women with long-term disabilities. The program will award one grant for a 60-month period, structured in five 12-month budget periods, starting in FY 2024.
