    Overview

    The Projects of National Significance (PNS) grant program seeks to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and communities by creating opportunities for full participation in community life. It supports the development of policies at national and state levels that advocate for the independence, productivity, and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities. Grants aim to achieve specific outcomes including:

    • Changing policies to better support individuals with ID/DD and their families.
    • Increasing leadership roles among individuals with ID/DD and their families.
    • Enhancing knowledge of supports needed for individuals with ID/DD to achieve their desired quality of life.
    • Expanding access to data resources that inform and support individuals with ID/DD and their families.
