The Administration for Community Living (ACL) supports the needs of the aging and disability populations, and improves access health care and long-term services.
The grant aims to fund projects under the Projects of National Significance (PNS) that focus on improving health equity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and their families. Its overarching goal is to empower these individuals to contribute to and participate fully in community life while developing supportive national and state policies. Specifically, the grant supports projects that work towards changing policies to better serve people with ID/DD, increasing the leadership roles of these individuals and their families, enhancing their knowledge of supports to achieve the lives they desire, and increasing the accessibility of data resources. Key performance measures include changing policies, increasing participation in policy advocacy, developing and disseminating tools and resources for leadership, enhancing knowledge of available supports, and creating and sharing data resources.
