The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provides equitable health care to the nation’s highest-need communities. Our programs support people with low incomes, people with HIV, pregnant people, children, parents, rural communities, transplant patients, and the health workforce.
The broad goal of the Delta Health Systems Implementation Program (DSIP) is to enhance healthcare delivery in rural areas by fostering projects aimed at improving the financial sustainability of hospitals and expanding access to medical care in rural communities. These projects specifically focus on enhancing financial and operational aspects, raising quality, integrating telehealth strategies, and promoting workforce development within hospitals in the rural counties and parishes of the Delta region. The grant underscores HRSA's partnership with the Delta Regional Authority, targeting applicants within these designated areas across 252 counties and parishes stretching over eight states: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
