Reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.
The SAMHSA grant program is designed to develop and enhance the specialized behavioral healthcare and primary healthcare workforce that delivers SUD treatment and recovery support services. Its goals include accelerating the adoption and implementation of evidence-based and promising SUD treatment and recovery practices, enhancing the knowledge and skills of the workforce to meet the needs of individuals with substance use or co-occurring health conditions, and promoting alliances among a diverse range of practitioners, researchers, policy makers, funders, and the recovery community. This program proposes specific funding limits for the ATTC Regional Centers and the ATTC National Coordinating Office, with detailed budget expectations for each sector of the project.
