The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) administers programs that create domestic and international marketing opportunities for U.S. producers of food, fiber, and specialty crops.
The grant aims to support the domestic maple syrup industry through various activities. These activities include promoting research and education regarding maple syrup production, ensuring natural resource sustainability within the industry, and market promotion for maple syrup and maple-sap products. Additionally, the grant encourages private landowners who have trees of the genus Acer to either begin or expand maple-sugaring activities or to make their land available for public maple-sugaring activities through leasing or other means.
