Protecting the health, welfare, and value of our Nation’s plants, animals, and natural resources.
The USDA APHIS Veterinary Services is offering cooperative agreement funding for the development and implementation of the Antimicrobial Resistance Dashboard (AMR Dashboard), following the directives outlined in the U.S. House of Representatives Report for the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, 2021. This project aims to establish public-private partnerships to develop tools for an antimicrobial resistance dashboard that will facilitate better access to data regarding antimicrobial resistance in domestic animals, encompassing livestock, poultry, and companion animals. The initiative is crafted to ensure data protection in line with the Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act while aiming to monitor and analyze trends in antimicrobial resistance, identify emerging resistance patterns, and understand the links between antimicrobial usage, animal health management, and resistance. This endeavor supports the broader goal of enhancing antimicrobial stewardship among domesticated animal populations to safeguard animal and public health.
