In 2024, APHIS WS plans to allocate approximately $5,500,000 through cooperative agreements to address the issue of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in wild cervids. The funding aims to support efforts related to the surveillance, testing, management, and response activities to control and prevent CWD. The final amount allocated will depend on the language and directions of the FY24 Congressional appropriations.
