    Type of Support

    Overview

The grant program encompasses three tracks (A, B, and C) each with distinct budgetary requirements and submission timelines. Track A focuses on proposals with budgets ranging from $2 million to less than $25 million with a specific submission deadline. Track B caters to proposals with budgets less than $2 million, reviewed on a quarterly basis through August 2024. Track C is tailored for proposals that aim to administer a national competitive regranting program, with budgets from $5 million to less than $50 million, emphasizing the allocation of at least 80% in sub-awards and offering a rolling submission and review process. The broad goal of the program is to support forest landowners, especially those underserved or owning less than 2,500 acres, to participate in private markets for climate mitigation or forest resilience. This is part of the Landowner Support for Forest Resilience initiative, funded by specific provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act, and falls under the USDA Forest Service's Landscape Scale Restoration Program. The initiative focuses on cost share and payment incentives for forestry practices to foster forest resilience and climate mitigation efforts.
