The New Beginning for Tribal Students (NBTS) grant program offers competitive grants to land-grant colleges and universities with a clear objective to support Tribal students. This program aims to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for these students through measures such as recruitment efforts, covering tuition and related expenses, providing experiential learning opportunities, and offering comprehensive student services like tutoring, counseling, academic advising. These efforts are designed to significantly boost both the retention and graduation rates of Tribal students at land-grant institutions. Eligibility is restricted to land-grant colleges and universities designated as 1862, 1994, and 1890 institutions.
