    Overview

The Healthy Forests Reserve Program (HFRP) aims to aid landowners in restoring, enhancing, and protecting forestland resources on private and tribal lands through various supportive measures, including easements, 30-year contracts, and 10-year cost-share agreements. The program focuses on voluntary assistance to landowners for the recovery of endangered and threatened species, improvement of plant and animal biodiversity, and enhancement of carbon sequestration. HFRP offers financial assistance to landowners through different enrollment options, including 10-year restoration agreements, 30-year easements, and permanent easements, with specific benefits aimed at increasing conservation practices, the easement value of enrolled land, and eligibility for American Indian tribe-owned acreage.
