We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The grant program's primary goal is to leverage Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) resources to encourage collaboration with partners for outreach and the strategic delivery of conservation assistance, aiming to bolster the agency's capacity to support conservation efforts. It seeks partnerships to enhance the implementation of conservation objectives and priorities, specifically targeting outreach and technical assistance in Maine. With a funding total of approximately $500,000 expected for the Federal fiscal year 2024, the program supports projects in various topic areas such as Forestry Implementation, Urban Implementation and Outreach, Wildlife Habitat Enhancement, and Remote Technology Utilization. These projects aim to assist eligible landowners and producers with planning and implementing conservation practices, enhance wildlife habitats, utilize remote technology for conservation practice verification, and address challenges like climate change, agricultural health, and increase conservation practice accessibility in urban areas. Proposals that focus on working with or benefitting underserved communities are especially encouraged.
