    Overview

This program aims to provide affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in primarily rural areas, supporting community development. Eligible areas are rural communities with no more than 20,000 residents, including Federally Recognized Tribal Lands. The funds can be used for a wide range of purposes including constructing or improving public facilities (health care facilities, public safety services, educational services, etc.), purchasing equipment, and covering related project expenses. Grant assistance is graduated based on community size and median household income, with smaller, lower-income communities eligible for a higher proportion of grant funds.
