Funding can be applied towards purchasing, constructing, or improving facilities such as healthcare, public, community support, public safety, educational, utility services, and local food systems. Grant approval is based on the community size, median household income, and prioritizes smaller communities with lower median household incomes for a higher proportion of grant funds.
