The program funds can be utilized for various purposes, including the construction, purchase, and improvement of essential community facilities, procurement of necessary equipment, and covering related project expenses. Essential community facilities supported by this grant include healthcare, public amenities, community support services, public safety services, educational facilities, utility services, and local food systems. Grant assistance is scaled based on community size and median household income, with the aim of providing more significant support to smaller communities with the lowest incomes.
