Overview

This program focuses on providing affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas with the aim of supporting the orderly development of these communities. It is targeted at rural areas including cities, villages, townships, towns, and Federally Recognized Tribal Lands with no more than 20,000 residents. The funds can be used for a wide range of purposes including purchasing, constructing, improving essential community facilities, and buying equipment. Facilities supported include healthcare, public safety, educational services, community support services, public facilities, and local food systems. Grant assistance varies based on the size of the community and its median household income, with more sizable grants available for smaller communities with lower median household incomes.
