We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This program offers affordable funding to support the development of essential community facilities in rural areas. These facilities must provide an essential service for the orderly development of the community within primarily rural areas, excluding private, commercial, or business ventures. Eligible areas include rural locations with no more than 20,000 residents. The grant funds may be used for purchasing, constructing, and improving essential community facilities, in addition to purchasing necessary equipment and covering related project expenses. Examples of such facilities include healthcare facilities, public facilities, community support services, public safety services, educational services, utility services, and local food systems. Funding assistance is offered on a graduated scale, favoring smaller communities with the lowest median household income, placing a cap on funding eligibility based on the population of the community and its median household income relative to the poverty line and the State nonmetropolitan median household income.
