We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This program is designed to provide affordable funding for the development of essential community facilities in rural areas. It aims to support the orderly development of communities in primarily rural areas, excluding private, commercial, or business undertakings. Eligible areas are rural, including cities, villages, townships, towns, and Federally Recognized Tribal Lands with no more than 20,000 residents. The funding can be used for purchasing, constructing, improving essential community facilities, and for purchasing equipment and paying related expenses. Examples of such facilities include healthcare, public facilities, community support services, public safety services, educational services, utility services, and local food systems. The grant assistance offered is on a graduated scale, favoring smaller communities with lower median household income, covering up to a maximum of 75 percent of eligible project costs for the smallest and least affluent communities.
