    Type of Support

    Overview

The grant program offers financial assistance to eligible communities to prepare for or recover from emergencies that threaten the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. This includes a wide range of qualifying events such as droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease outbreaks, chemical spills, leaks, or seepage, and other disasters. A federal disaster declaration is not required to qualify. The funds can be used for water transmission line grants up to $150,000 and water source grants up to $1,000,000 to construct or repair water-related infrastructure. Applications are accepted year-round either online or through local RD offices.
