    Type of Support

    Overview

The Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program provides financial support to eligible communities to prepare for or recover from emergencies that threaten the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. This includes various types of emergencies such as droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes, disease outbreaks, chemical spills, or other disasters. A federal disaster declaration is not a prerequisite for program eligibility. The program offers grants for water transmission line projects up to $150,000 and water source projects up to $1,000,000. These funds can be used to construct or repair waterlines, water sources, intake, or treatment facilities, aiming to restore or maintain access to clean water, improve the natural environment, and support business growth in rural areas and towns affected by natural disasters. Applications are accepted year-round online or through local RD offices.
