From USDA: Rural Development (RD)

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

This program aims to support small rural businesses through technical assistance and training. Eligible businesses are those with fewer than 50 new workers and less than $1 million in gross revenue. The grants focus on projects benefiting rural areas or towns outside urbanized cities with populations over 50,000. There's no maximum grant amount, but smaller requests are prioritized, and no cost-sharing is required. The funds can be used for a wide range of purposes including training and technical assistance, land acquisition, construction, pollution control, capitalization of revolving loan funds, distance learning for job training, rural transportation improvement, community economic development, technology-based development, feasibility studies, leadership and entrepreneurship training, rural business incubators, and long-term strategic planning.
