    Type of Support

    Overview

The Rural Business Development Grant program aims to provide technical assistance and training specifically tailored for small rural businesses defined by having fewer than 50 new workers and less than $1 million in gross revenue. The program prioritizes smaller grant requests without a cost-sharing requirement. A portion of the grants, known as opportunity grants, is dedicated to funding up to 10 percent of the annual budget towards projects that benefit small and emerging rural businesses. Eligible uses of the funds include a wide range of activities from training and technical assistance to infrastructure development and community economic ventures. The broad goal is to empower rural businesses through a comprehensive suite of support measures, encouraging sustainable growth, and economic revitalization of rural areas.
