It is designed for businesses with fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross revenue. The program offers various forms of aid, including training, business counseling, feasibility studies, and more. It also supports physical and logistical improvements like land acquisition, construction, and utility setup, as well as environmental efforts and economic development initiatives. Special consideration is given to smaller funding requests, and no cost-sharing is required. Opportunity grants, limited to 10 percent of total funding, can be used for community and technology-based economic development, as well as for studies, training, incubators, and strategic planning.
