We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This grant program supports Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) by providing them with loans and grants aimed to assist microenterprises in their startup and growth phases. The funds can be used for establishing a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund and providing training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and micro entrepreneurs. The program focuses on rural areas outside cities or towns with fewer than 50,000 residents, although the borrower's headquarters can be based in a larger city, given the project service area is located in an eligible rural area. Grants up to $205,000 annually can be allocated for technical assistance, requiring at least 15% matching funds. Loans ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 are available to establish a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund, with a total aggregate debt limit of $2.5 million.
