This program is designed to support Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) in aiding microenterprises with startup and growth initiatives via a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund. It also aims to provide training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and micro-entrepreneurs. Eligible areas for these efforts are rural locales outside cities or towns with populations under 50,000, with certain restrictions regarding proximity to larger urban areas. The funding consists of grants up to $205,000 annually for technical assistance, requiring at least 15% matching funds, and loans ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 to establish a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund, with a total debt cap of $2.5 million.
