Overview

This grant program provides loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) for the purpose of supporting microenterprises in rural areas. It aims to assist with the startup and growth of microenterprises by establishing a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund. Additionally, the program offers training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and micro entrepreneurs. MDOs applying for this grant must demonstrate experience in managing a Revolving Loan Fund or possess relevant training and experience. They should also show active and successful participation as an intermediary lender, preferably with good standing under the SBA Microloan Program or similar loan programs. The funding primarily targets technical assistance for rural micro-entrepreneurs or microenterprises, offering up to $205,000 annually, with a requirement for at least 15% matching funds.
