This grant program aims to support the development and maintenance of clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses in eligible rural areas. The program facilitates funding for the acquisition, construction, or improvement of essential services including drinking water sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution; sewer collection, transmission, treatment, and disposal; solid waste collection, disposal, and closure; and storm water collection, transmission, and disposal. Additionally, the grant can cover related activities like legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest during construction, purchasing of facilities to enhance service or prevent service loss, and other necessary project completion costs.
