This program aims to support the development and maintenance of clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses in eligible rural areas. The grant facilitates financial support for a wide range of infrastructure projects, including the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water systems, sewer systems, solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage. Eligible uses of funds extend to legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, water and land rights, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, and the purchase of facilities to prevent service loss. Additional project-related costs deemed necessary for the completion of the project are also covered.
