This program aims to support the development and maintenance of clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses in eligible rural areas. Specific causes supported by this grant include the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water sourcing and distribution, sewer systems, solid waste disposal, and storm water management systems. Additionally, funding may cover related activities such as legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest during construction, and the purchase of facilities to improve or maintain service levels.
