The van Ameringen Foundation funds innovative and practical programs focused on early intervention, advocacy, and increased accessibility of mental health services for individuals and communities with limited financial means and opportunities.
The grant program from the van Ameringen Foundation seeks to support projects and initiatives that align with its mission in mental health. It aims to increase the accessibility of mental health services for underserved populations, offer preventive and early intervention strategies, and advocate for systemic change with the potential for local or national impact. The Foundation supports both direct and non-direct service grants, including:
Direct Service Grants: These are for programs providing direct mental health services, such as case management, counseling, or psychiatric care, with grants ranging from $25,000 to $75,000 annually for up to three years.
Non-Direct Service Grants: These include advocacy efforts for legal or policy changes, dissemination efforts to share research or best practices, and training for mental health professionals or advocates. Advocacy grants can go up to $250,000 annually, while media/dissemination and training grants range from $25,000 to $75,000 annually, also for up to three years.
