The Swift Memorial Health Care Foundation, established in 1984, aims to honor the legacy of Dr. Floyd J. Swift and his wife, Ida Swift, by improving the quality of life in Ventura County. Through the assets from the sale of Oxnard Community Hospital, it supports health services for county residents as a private 501(c)(3) foundation, leveraging VCCF's services for administration, investment, and staffing.
The grant program supports performances of non-Western classical and folk musics by bearers of these traditions. It aims at schools and organizations that present concerts to the public, promoting works that may include contemporary compositions for traditional or Western instruments. These works should be inspired by and incorporate elements of non-Western musics, furthering the mission to expand acquaintance with diverse artistic heritages.
