    The grant focuses on encouraging literacy and engagement in reading among young adults through Vermont libraries. It supports projects that go beyond mere acquisition to include plans for utilization, such as:

    • Acquisition of books, graphic novels, and e-books for young adults, emphasizing plans for active use.
    • Reading enrichment programs tailored for young adults.
    • Seminars or workshops on reading, including author visits.
    • Small capital improvements specifically for young adult or children's sections in libraries. The grant amounts typically range from $250 to $1,000, with decisions on the number of grants made annually by the Foundation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and applicants are notified within 60 days.
