AmeriCorps aims to bring people together to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges through national service and volunteering. It focuses on improving communities by making service a cornerstone of national culture. AmeriCorps supports programs that engage members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions/practices to strengthen communities.
The AmeriCorps Planning Grant, awarded by Volunteer NH, supports organizations in developing a full AmeriCorps program over up to one year. This includes creating member documents, securing community partners, and outlining appropriate member activities, without directly involving AmeriCorps members. The grants prioritize New Hampshire-specific issues aligned with the New Hampshire State Service Plan and the annual priorities set by AmeriCorps. Planning Grant activities involve developing specific member activities, a recruitment plan, recruiting host sites and partners, and creating a data collection and training plan along with required AmeriCorps documentation. Recipients should be ready to compete for an AmeriCorps program grant in the future. The maximum grant request is $75,000.
