The Foundation is devoting significant resources toward investments in two critical focus areas for our work in Forsyth County: Building an Inclusive Economy and Advancing Equity in Education.
The grant program by The Women's Fund specifically targets building economic security for women and girls in Forsyth County. It leverages findings from the "Through A Gender Lens" research to address systemic barriers and disparities affecting women and girls, especially in areas like Business and Employment, Economic Self-Sufficiency, Education, and Housing and Homelessness. This initiative aligns with The Winston-Salem Foundation's focus on creating an inclusive economy and prioritizes support for organizations led by women of color, with annual revenues under $250,000, that involve women or girls with lived experiences in program designs, and that have a strong gender focus in their projects or operations.
