The grant program is directed toward supporting programs that serve women and girls in Hawaii, aligning with values that emphasize dignity, partnership, cultural respect, and self-determination. The grants aim to enhance women's financial security and dignity, and girls' strengths and leadership. They focus on building the inherent gifts, strengths, and well-being of women and girls, addressing barriers to their success such as abuse, neglect, poverty, health issues, homelessness, racism, and violence, among others. Special interest is given to programs for girls, those serving Native Hawaiian women and girls, and initiatives in rural areas, though funding is not limited to these areas.
