Casey's Donation Request: Focus Areas, Lead Time and Approval Odds (2026 Guide)

Casey's gives gift cards and food to 501(c)(3)s in its communities through one online form. Inside: the three focus areas, lead time, and the 51% odds seen on TheShareWay.

Casey's takes donation requests through one online Donation Request Form, and only from 501(c)(3) nonprofits in communities where Casey's has stores. Your request has to fit one of Casey's three giving focus areas: Education, Hunger and Community Servants. Organizations that haven't received a Casey's donation in the current giving year, which runs from May 1 to April 30, get priority. About 51% of Casey's donation requests tracked on TheShareWay succeed, and Casey's responds in a median of 3 days. Start from Casey's donation requests page and track your request on Casey's TheShareWay page.

About 51% of Casey's donation requests tracked on TheShareWay succeed. Across 685 tracked applications on TheShareWay, Casey's responds to donation requests in a median of 3 days. Nonprofits logged 122 Casey's requests on TheShareWay in the last 12 months.

    What Casey's donates

Casey's doesn't publish a list of items, and what you receive depends on your request. Among approved requests on TheShareWay, gift cards are by far the most common, usually in $25 and $50 amounts. Next come large pizzas or pizza coupons, then cookie and donut coupons. Nearly all of them arrive by mail at your organization's address, so you don't need to pick anything up at a store. Casey's donations tracked on TheShareWay are typically worth $60–$145, with a median of $100.

A few nonprofits have received cash gifts for things like equipment through the same form. If cash is what you need, TheShareWay also lists the program in its grants directory as Casey's Donation Requests.

Who can request a Casey's donation

    • 501(c)(3) nonprofits only. Keep your EIN and IRS paperwork handy. Our guide to the 501(c)(3) determination letter explains where to find it.
    • In a Casey's community. Casey's gives where it operates stores, mainly across the Midwest and South. Check Casey's store finder on caseys.com for the store nearest you.
    • Within the focus areas. Casey's supports Education, Hunger and Community Servants. Say plainly which one your request serves.
    • Not eligible: individuals, political organizations, dues and memberships (such as chamber of commerce dues), and for-profit organizations.
    • One donation per giving year gets priority. If you already received a Casey's donation since May 1, a second request in the same giving year is less likely to be approved.

How to submit a Casey's donation request

    1. Count back from your event date. Casey's asks for event requests at least 14 days before the event, but don't cut it that close. Approved Casey's requests on TheShareWay were submitted a median of 75 days before the event, so aim for two months or more.
    2. Tie your request to a focus area. Write two or three sentences on how the donation supports education, hunger relief or community servants in your town. TheShareWay's donation request letter template covers the same ground and is easy to adapt.
    3. Fill out the online form, which you reach from Casey's donation requests page. Casey's doesn't accept requests by mail, email or phone, so don't ask store staff to take a paper letter.
    4. Log the request on Casey's TheShareWay page so you have the date you applied and a reminder to follow up.

    After you apply

Expect an answer within days. Casey's responds in a median of 3 days on TheShareWay. Approved donations are mailed to the address on your application.

The decline reason nonprofits most often record is a request that falls outside Casey's focus areas. If you're declined, check how clearly your request connected to education, hunger or community servants, and apply again for your next event, ideally in the next giving year.

Once the donation arrives, a silent auction bid sheet helps you display gift cards and coupons, and a thank-you letter to your local store keeps the door open for next year.

Casey's Cash for Classrooms grants for schools

If you're raising money for a K-12 school, look at Casey's larger program too. Cash for Classrooms gives grants of up to $50,000 to K-12 public and nonprofit private schools in Casey's communities. The money can go to building improvements, supplies and technology, teacher support, or community engagement such as field trips. Applications for 2027 grants were open through November 14, 2026. If Casey's isn't an option

If your request falls outside Casey's focus areas, you've already had a donation this giving year, or you need more prizes for the same event, these donors cover much of the same region:

    • Club Car Wash, in 11 states including Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, donates a three-month unlimited wash membership, and about 68% of requests succeed.
    • SCHEELS, with stores across the Midwest and West, donates sporting goods, gift cards and money, and about 52% of requests succeed.
    • Andy's Frozen Custard, in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and other states, donates custard cups and free-treat cards, and about 45% of requests succeed.
    • Kwik Trip, in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and neighboring states, donates food, coupons, gift cards and money, and about 34% of requests succeed.
